'Another great year for us' Heavy demand for lightweight caravans, says importer MORE and more people are opting for lightweight caravans, according to one importer. Adria and Euro RV report brisk interest in their offerings after the Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Holiday Show – the biggest of its kind in the country – generated millions of dollars in orders.
"It was another great year for us," an Adria spokesman said. "The weather at the beginning of the show did not look too promising, but this did not stop potential customers coming to see our display. Total sales achieved over the show period exceeded expectations." He said the response from people looking for lighter weight alternatives was increasing "exponentially" every year. Adria showcased its new Adora 662UP, which replaces the 642UP, and reported that if customer feedback was anything to go by it would be "a real winner". Queensland's Euro RV principal Eric De Cock said the response had been "great". "The 22ft caravan has separate shower and toilet, queen-size island bed which can transform into two singles if required, an airy lounge and dining area with kitchen space 'big enough to create a feast even Jamie Oliver would be envious of'," he said. "I would call the 662UP the star of the show for Adria and it means a lot to get such positive feedback from the public." Mr De Cock said the greatest success at the show had been the Altea 432PX ... "but not to be left behind is the 532UP and 532LT family 'van which have also sold well over the show period." Caravanning Queensland chief executive officer Ron Chapman described the Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Holiday Show as another success which had resulted in strong sales for exhibitors.
