Bemm River changes hands after 14 years Engineering company wins 21-year lease to run park AN engineering company has been awarded a 21-year lease to operate a Victorian caravan park. JDM Engineering's owner James McIntyre will pay East Gippsland Shire Council $12,000 yearly to run the Bemm River Caravan Park. Councillors have agreed to close the 7.5 acre park "for the shortest possible time" to allow for upgrading work to be carried out. According to the park's website, it will be shut for four months or until the work is completed. Chris and Wendy Lewis, who have run Bemm River for more than 14 years, said they were leaving "for various reasons ... none of which we can openly state on a public website". "It is with some sadness that we farewell all the friends we have made and wish everyone well for the future. We hope to catch up with you sometime soon," they added. The couple announced they were selling everything in the park ... including residence, caravans, mowers, shipping containers and sheds.
