seasonal cleaners, whose duties will include "graffiti removal", to work at
its Port Fairy caravan parks.

The search for 73 year-old Annemarie Jeffery, who was last
seen at NSW's Lake Arragan campground north of Brooms Head five days ago,
has been suspended.
AUG 28:
Owner of the Jayco empire Gerry Ryan will miss tomorrow's
start of the world famous Tour de France cycling event in Nice, thanks to
the coronavirus pandemic. "This will be the first tour I have missed for a
good decade," he told media. "I am in lockdown in Melbourne."

with $1000 penalty and ordered to return to Victoria after allegedly

The large-scale air and land search for a 73-year-old woman

The Calliope rest area and camping grounds on Queensland's
Bruce Hwy west of Gladstone will be reopened this weekend.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett
has appealed to travellers using the facility "to do the right thing" and

Caravan reportedly engulfed by fire on Queensland's Bruce
Highway near Coochincreek on the Sunshine Coast. No one thought to have been

Police believe a blown tyre could have caused yesterday's
caravan rollover on Queensland's Warrego Hwy west of Chinchilla.

down, claiming prices would just be jacked up by the same amount.

Aspen Group, which operates a chain of holiday and lifestyle
villages, reports a "positive financial year" for 2020, with statutory net
profit soaring by a whopping 1338 percent to $11.87 million. Operating
profit increased 34 percent to $6.64 million.

Victoria's Campaspe Shire Council has announced that annual
site-holder fees at the Echuca Holiday Park will be waived until stage 3
restrictions are revoked. Meanwhile, caravan park registration fees will
also be reduced by one-sixth.

Ingenia, which operates a chain of holiday and lifestyle
parks, announces underlying profit of $59.1 million for year ending June 30,
2020 ... a 25 percent increase on the previous year. Chief executive Simon
Owen said the result demonstrated the "overall resilience of the business".

A Brisbane man who scooped a million dollars on this week's
Gold Lotto with numbers his family has used for half a century plans to buy
a caravan for his holidays.
AUG 18:
A crime scene was established after a woman's body was found
inside a burned-out campervan in NSW this morning. Firefighters were called
to Dukes Oval at Emu Plains shortly after midnight to find the Mercedes Benz
RV well-alight. An investigation is now underway into the cause of the fire.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm identity and cause of
death.

New local laws introduced by Victoria's Frankston City
Council include a ban on parking caravans in the street for more than seven
days.
AUG 17:
NSW police have launched an investigation after a shot
was fired into an occupied caravan on the South Coast overnight. The
incident happened on Pleasant Way, Nowra, about 3am this morning. It appears
a 52-year-old man was sitting in the caravan but was not injured. Anyone
with information is urged to contact police.

Camper taken to Charters Towers hospital after suffering
serious burns from a campfire off Queensland's Lynd Hwy early today.
AUG 15:
Caravan and tow vehicle rolled on Queensland's
Gregory Development Road north of Belyando Crossing. Two people with serious
injuries airlifted to Townsville University Hospital. Spokeswoman at
Belyando Crossing Road House and Caravan Park told Caravanning News
that she believed the travellers had been heading south when their ute and
caravan 'flipped".

Man rushed to hospital with serious burns after
caravan erupted in flames late last night in Ipswich suburb of Bundamba,
Queensland.
AUG 14:
Melbourne's 2020 Leisurefest has been cancelled
because of the COVID-19 crisis, Caravan Industry Victoria announced today.
Chief executive Rob Lucas said it would be "disappointing news" for
exhibitors and visitors. But, he added, the industry would continue lobbying
the Victorian Government to ease restrictions for outdoor caravan and
camping shows to allow the association, members and exhibitors to operate in
a COVID-19 safe manner.

Darling Downs Health has opened a new COVID-19
drive-in testing clinic on Queensland's Warrego Hwy at Charlton on outskirts
of Toowoomba for travellers, including caravanners.

Walkerville Council in SA is asking the local
community whether a long-term lease of up to 42 years should be offered to
new managers of Levi Caravan Park on the banks of the River Torrens so it
can be redeveloped "for the benefit of both the community and tourists
alike". The current lease expires in November.

Caravanning Queensland will hold free educational
towing and weights "masterclasses" at Nambour Showgrounds on August 29.

The award-winning Dalrymple Cabin and Van Park located at the northern
entrance to Charters Towers on Queensland's Lynd Highway has been bought for
a reported $2.2 million by the park's operators, Brad and Tanya Chilton.

Noosa Shire Council in Queensland will receive
$410,000 from the state government for upgrading facilities at the Boreen
Point Campground. The handout will come from Queensland Government's $50m
Unite and Recover Community Stimulus Package and will create or support
more than three jobs.

Southern Queensland Country Tourism chief executive
Peter Homan reports "strong enquiries" at caravan parks across the region as
travellers plan to take advantage of next Friday's new Ekka public holiday
long weekend. The holiday is for people living in Brisbane, Weipa,
Rockhampton, Livingstone, Mackay, Gold Coast, Logan, Burdekin, Charters
Towers, Cloncurry and Whitsunday (for the Bowen area only) council areas.
