JULY 31:
The 23-year-old man shot and run down by caravan on Bruce Hwy near Nambour charged with 26 offences during hospital bedside hearing.

Caravanner, 72, airlifted to hospital after his rig collided with truck on Newell Hwy near Parkes in NSW. The highway was blocked in both directions. Police said the man had to be freed from the wreckage of his Nissan Patrol before being taken to Orange Base Hospital in a "serious but stable" condition. "He sustained multiple injuries including severed toes and suspected spinal injuries," a spokesperson said. The 54-year-old driver of the Mack prime mover was breath tested and returned a negative result. Inquiries into the cause of yesterday afternoon's accident are continuing.

Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park north of Sydney has scooped gold in the NSW Regional Tourist Awards' Caravan and Holiday Parks category. Held in Newcastle yesterday, more than 120 people gathered from across the Sydney Surrounds North Destination Network area to see winners in 10 categories announced.

Caravan rollover reported at Gulu west of Guthalungra on Queensland's Bruce Highway. No other vehicles thought to be involved. One person believed to have been taken to hospital.

Despite failing to provide any "noticeable economic benefit" for the area, Victoria's Surf Coast Shire Council has decided not to close Winchelsea's 48-hour RV Friendly Park.

Caravanning Queensland will launch a brand new industry show this year. The inaugural Sunshine Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo will be held at the Nambour Showgrounds from August 30 to September 1. "Lovers of caravanning, camping and the outdoors will get a chance to see the latest and greatest in caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers and tent trailers, along with an array of recreational products and accessories to make the next adventure for caravanners, young or old, the best it can be," a spokesperson said.

Two caravan parks in outback Queensland are on the market. The 60-site Ilfracombe Caravan Park on the Capricorn Hwy is up for sale for $850,000 while asking price for the Blackall Caravan Park on the Landsborough Hwy is $1.35 million.

The long-awaited court case involving consumer watchdog ACCC and Jayco is expected to begin on July 24, a spokesperson for the Federal Court in Victoria told Caravanning News today.

Emergency services called to scene of accident involving car towing caravan on Kosciuszko National Park's Alpine Way about 20km north of Thredbo, NSW. No further details available.

JULY 14:
Unoccupied parked Jayco Starcraft caravan badly damaged when it was sent spinning by out-of-control car in Perth suburb of Aveley in Western Australia. No one injured.

JULY 12:
Two caravanners received hospital treatment for minor injuries after their Franklin Arrow caravan and tow vehicle overturned on NSW's Barrier Highway about 30km east of Broken Hill today. It is believed the driver lost control of the rig while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

Security footage is being scrutinised after thieves stole a luxury caravan from a Queensland RV manufacturer. The crooks raided Sunland Caravans Caboolture premises at around 2am today. Owner Roy Wyss Jnr said the "low life" made off with a 2013 Phoenix Scorpion and was photographed on the security camera.

Dunes warning at Byron BayJULY 9:
Guests at Reflections holiday park at Byron Bay's Clarkes Beach in NSW have been  warned to stay away from nearby dunes which have suffered coastal erosion and could collapse. Director of infrastructure services Phil Holloway said the area had seen significant coastal erosion and dunes could collapse. "Safety is paramount," director of infrastructure services Phil Holloway said.

Windsor Rapid caravan stolen from Somerville in Victoria later found abandoned 25km away at Cranbourne.

Campers
ran for their lives after fire broke out at a popular camping ground in north Queensland overnight. Around 500 campers were evacuated from the award-winning Adels Grove camping spot when the ferocious blaze erupted in the main building at the caravan park. One person treated for burns.

JULY 8:
Blaze at a NSW caravan park is being treated as suspicious, police said today. They are now appealing for witnesses to the mystery fire at the Ball Park Caravan Park on the banks of the Murray River at Corowa. Three caravans, which were due to be removed, were destroyed and annexes at a further three caravans damaged in the Saturday evening outbreak. All caravans were unattended.

JULY 7:
Caravanners escaped unhurt after their rig rolled on Queensland's Bruce Hwy north of Gin Gin today. Police said no other vehicles involved.

JULY 6:
Family-owned Wangaratta Caravans collected a top award at last night's Caravan Industry Victoria 2019 Hall of Fame Business Awards. It was named winner of the Excellence in Dealer / Retailer of the Year gong. Established 35 years ago, the business boasts of having customers Australia-wide.

Crusader Caravans pulled off the double at tonight's Caravan Industry Victoria 2019 Hall of Fame Business Awards. It was named manufacturer of the year while staff member Erkut Fevzi scooped the CTIA Trainee of the Year gong.

Cabonne Council in NSW is looking for managers to take over its 21-site Molong Caravan Park for the next three years.

JULY 3:
Two drivers who drove in excess of 40km/h past the scene of a caravan accident in NSW have copped fines. One was fined $725 and issued five demerit points for the offence and for not displaying P-plates. Another was fined $457 and issued three demerit points. The accident involved a car towing caravan on the Newell Highway about 5km south of Parkes this afternoon. Emergency services attended the scene and traffic was said to be affected in both directions. It is understood the car, which was towing a Regal caravan, ended up on its roof but the driver and passenger escaped serious injuries.

JULY 3:
SA police still trying to solve mystery of abandoned caravan which caused traffic problems in Adelaide suburb of Gllendore for more than two hours yesterday. Caravan, bearing interstate plates, found minus its tow vehicle and the owner nowhere in sight.

JULY 2:
Fire Service investigators have completed an investigation into Saturday's $3.5 million blaze which destroyed caravans and trailers at King Trailers' Hobart warehouse. "Due to the severity of the fire, which completely destroyed the buildings and contents, the cause is undetermined," they said.
