Caravan on the roadOCT 31:
NSW Road Safety - NSW GOV has advised caravanners to correctly load, restrain and distribute the load in their RV and towing vehicle, keep a safe speed and distance from other vehicles and drive to the conditions. "Accelerate, brake and steer smoothly and gradually to avoid caravan sway," it added.

OCT 31:
A camper was rushed to hospital in a "stable condition" late last night after being bitten by a snake at a Kenilworth campground in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The RACV Caravan Club's planned combined Christmas rally at Yarra Glen Racecourse in Victoria on December 4 and 5 has been cancelled due to COVID restrictions.

 Paramedics assessing two patients after a two-vehicle crash involving a caravan rollover on the northbound lane of Queensland's Bruce Highway at Tanawha.

Peer-to-peer RV rental company Camplify enters into agreement to fully acquire Mighway and SHAREaCAMPER business and assets in Australia and New Zealand from Tourism Holdings. Shares in the NSW-based company rose 12 percent to $4.77 within hours of the share market opening this morning.

Organisers of the recent five-day Mandurah Boat, Caravan, 4WD and Camping Show in WA report that the event attracted 15,000 enthusiasts to the David Grays Arena.

A retired Brassall couple in Queensland is planning to hit the road to see the sights of Australia in a brand new caravan, thanks to a $200,000 Lucky Lotteries windfall today. Meanwhile, a
n East Devonport man in Tasmania says he will ditch his nine-to-five grind so he can travel around the country by caravan after discovering he won more than $621,000 in the weekend's TattsLotto draw.

Chartered accountant Garry Gill today became joint company secretary of Brisbane-based caravan builder and RV rental company Apollo Tourism and Leisure, with incumbent Tennille Carrier planning to take maternity leave in early December.

Heritage Caravan Park at Alice Springs will improve its camp kitchen and pool thanks to a grant from the Northern Territory Government's Visitor Experience Enhancement Program. Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Natasha Fyles said grants from the program provided opportunities for businesses to enhance their tourism offerings for both visitors and locals.

Police investigating after vandals reportedly slashed tyres on caravan and four other vehicles at Swimming Creek, Nambucca Heads, NSW.

OCT 22:
Queensland's Fraser Coast Regional Council has erected fencing around the western area of its Pialba Beachfront Tourist Park after a spate of thefts from caravans.

OCT 22:
NSW couples with children will be able to use their $250 Economic Recovery Strategy vouchers at the state's caravan parks and camping grounds when issued early next year. Premier Dominic Perrottet described it as a 'thank you' to parents who had to homeschool their children during the pandemic. "We know it has been an incredibly difficult time of juggling kids, work and family life but we all owe you a great deal of gratitude," he said.

Shares in peer-to-peer RV rental company Camplify will open at $4.24 today, their highest price since hitting the ASX in June.

OCT 21:
Peer-to-peer RV hire company Camplify today reported continued growth, with revenue of $3.07m for the first quarter ... 106 percent higher than last year's corresponding period. Cash receipts from customers amounted to $7.68m.

Shares in Aspen Group, operators of a chain of holiday and lifestyle parks, reached a year-high of $1.60 today.

Caravan rolloverOCT 20:
Five members of a caravanning family were taken to hospital after their rig rolled in northern Queensland. Police said they were fortunate to escape serious injuries in the crash on Malanda Atherton Road. They said it happened when the Ford utility braked, causing it and the large caravan to flip. No oher vehicle was involved.

OCT 19:
Millions of $50 Stay and Rediscover vouchers will soon be available to NSW residents for spending at the state's camping grounds, caravan parks and hotels.

Cleo SmithOCT 19:
The massive search continues for four-year-old Cleo Smith who was last seen at 1:30am on October 16 in her family's tent at WA's Blowholes campsite in Macleod, 50km north of Carnarvon. She was sleeping in a red and black sleeping bag, which is also missing, and was wearing a pink/purple one-piece sleep-suit with a blue and yellow pattern. Cleo has honey blonde coloured hair and hazel eyes. Grave concerns are held for her safety. Police are urging anyone who stayed overnight at the campsite on Friday night (15 October) or who were in the vicinity but did not stay overnight, to contact them on 131 444.

Four members of the Australian Caravan Club have received 2021 ACC Service Awards. They are Graham Christie, Marilyn Hannah, Keith Males and Rodney Witt.

OCT 18:
Work will begin next month on a $420,000 project to provide more parking facilities adjacent to Tanunda's Barossa Visitor Centre in SA which will include dedicated spaces for caravans.

The popular Myrtle Park camping ground at Launceston in Tasmania will reopen to the public on October 22. Sites will cost $20 a night.

Tasmania Police investigating blaze which destroyed caravan in Sturt Crescent, Mayfield, overnight.

Finalists vying for gold in the Caravan & Holiday Parks category of the 2021 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards include: Cheynes Beach Caravan Park, Coral Coast Tourist Park, Experience Lancelin Holiday Park, Kimberleyland Waterfront Holiday Park - Kununurra, RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park and RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. The winner will be announced on November 13.

Go Brisbane Caravan and Outdoor ShowOCT 16:
More than 100 exhibitors will be showing their wares at what is described as one of Brisbane's most popular caravan and camping events. Caravanning Queensland's four-day Let's Go Brisbane Caravan & Outdoor Show will throw open its doors at the Brisbane Showgrounds on October 28. "Whether you're a seasoned nomad, weekend road tripper or family explorer, the expo has something for everyone," a spokesperson said. "Cara-fans will get the chance to experience the latest in caravan and camping technologies and gadgets to prepare them for a safe, secure and enjoyable Aussie adventure."

OCT 15:
Perth-based Fleetwood, which operates RV accessories company Northern Camec and Melbourne-based caravan repairs and services company Northern RV, will hold its AGM on November 17. Due to continued COVID restrictions on travel and public gatherings it will be done virtually. "The health and safety of our shareholders, employees and the broader community is paramount," the company said.

Justin Hales, CamplifyOCT 15:
Peer-to-peer RV hire company Camplify will release its new quarterly cashflow results on October 21. An investor briefing will be held during an audio phone conference featuring chief executive and founder Justin Hales (pictured), chief financial officer Andrea MacDougall and chairman Trent Bagnall.

OCT 14:
WA's Shire of Pingelly seeking expressions of interest from people interested in buying chalets at its Pingelly Caravan Park for between $120,000 and $150,000.

SA's District Council of Grant is inviting community feedback on eight proposed new free camping sites. They are located at Surfers Way Beach carparks 2 and 3, Birdhide, 816 Eight Mile Creek Road, Dry Creek, Blackfellows Caves, Orwell Rocks and Allendale East Recreation Reserve.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia reminds people that nominations to join its board close on Friday this week.

A facility at a Victorian caravan park has been listed as a COVID Tier 1 exposure site. Anyone who has used the Wakiti Creek Resort - Caravan Park shower block on Yabuna Bridge Road in Kotupna on October 5 from 8am to 11am and October 6 from 8.30am to 11.30am must get tested and isolate for 14 days.

South Australia Police investigating blaze which destroyed caravan in Dunorlan Road, Edwardstown, early this morning.

Copper Coast Council in South Australia is seeking comments from the public on plans to extend the lease and improve Kadina Caravan Park.

OCT 12:
Crusader Caravans today welcomed back some of its workers to its factory at Epping in Victoria, with manufacturing again underway after its COVID shutdown. "Our absolute and clear focus is to minimise the impact of this disruption on current orders, whilst adhering to our strict quality control standards," it said in a Facebook posting. "Naturally, ensuring the safety of our staff and suppliers remains our highest priority."

Police today appealed for help after the July 25 murder of a man at a caravan park on Ethel St at Sanctuary Point on NSW's South Coast. They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have information relating to several people seen leaving the park around the time of the stabbing.

OCT 11:
A 77-year-old Jingili caravanner injured in a single vehicle crash on Queensland's Gulf Development Road at Croydon on October 4 has died in hospital.

OCT 11:
Plans for a new 46-site caravan park and campground near the Bremer River at Ipswich ‒ with future concept plans showing up to 230 sites ‒ have been submitted to the local city council  west of Brisbane.

Tumbling Waters caravan  parkOCT 11:
The NT's Tumbling Waters Holiday Park, set on 100 acres near Berry Springs, will build a new ablutions block and swimming pool thanks to a Roadhouse to Recovery grant. The State Government said the upgrade would help boost the experience for holidaymakers "who are increasingly taking to the road to support the Territory's booming drive tourism market". Tourism and Hospitality Minister Natasha Fyles commented: "By upgrading the Territory's wayside inns, caravan parks and roadhouses in our more remote regions, whether its new cabins or a playground for families, provides more options for travellers that might have previously just popped in for fuel and a rest.”

OCT 10:
Police investigating after eight-year-old girl died in accident involving a moving caravan at a Victoria camping ground. According to reports, an off-duty paramedic performed CPR but was unable to save the child. The accident happened at the Tidal River camp in Wilsons Promontory National Park.

NSW's Central Coast holiday parks will throw open their doors from Monday to guests from Greater Sydney.

Caravan Industry Association of Australia to give evidence at Federal Government's Joint Select Committee on Road Safety on October 12.

OCT 8:
There are plans to accommodate more caravanners, campers and other travellers at Imbil's camping ground near Gympie in Queensland, with the number of sites to be increased from 45 to 135. Work on the development must start within six years.

Pageant float Summer HolidayOCT 7:
The 89th National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant at Adelaide Oval on November 13 will feature a 'Summer Holiday' float presented by Jayco Adelaide. "Christmas caravanners are the essence of summer, and with more people holidaying in their home states this year it seemed fitting," designer John Barone said. "Of course, we've added in a few more Christmas lights to make it even more spectacular." Jayco Adelaide marketing manager Jade Walsh added: "The Summer Holiday float is a fantastic way to promote regional tourism and support holidaying in the many great destinations this state has to offer."
 

OCT 6:
About 200 members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club of Australia have descended on Queensland's Rum City for today's annual general meeting. Unfortunately, problems with Bundaberg's WiFi at the Recreational Precinct prevented the proceedings from being broadcast live. COVID restrictions had prevented the gathering from being held in NSW as originally planned.

OCT 6:
Caravan Industry Association of Australia will host Mel Novak from Beyond Blue for 45 minutes starting at 1pm today, outlining how to establish a workplace wellbeing plan and other free resources available through Beyond Blue’s NewAccess program.

OCT 6:
Members of the Australian Caravan Club are heading to Queensland's Beef City in readiness for its national week-long muster. About 100 RVs are expected at the event, to be officially opened by Mayor Tony Williams on Sunday at Rockhampton's showground. Proceeds from the muster will go to the Lions Medical Research Foundation.

OCT 5:
Forty-six members of Queensland Retreat Caravan group to hold this year's third get-together at the Wondai Showgrounds from the November 1 to 8 where they will have 46 members attending, kicking off with a Melbourne Cup lunch on the second day.

Adelaide-based G'Day Parks, which operates more than 300 parks, snapped up three others during a $75 million spending spree in the last year. Joining the stable were Kings Canyon Resort, Glen Helen Resort and the MacDonnell Range Holiday Park in the NT, as well as the El Questro resort in WA.

Shares in Brisbane-based caravan manufacturer and RV hire company Apollo Tourism and Leisure opened at two-year high of 70c today.

OCT 4:
Queensland's emergency services were kept busy with a spate of accidents involving caravans today. Two travellers were injured when their SUV and caravan rolled on the Bruce Highway on Cardwell Range between Ingham and Cardwell, a guard rail preventing the rig from careering down steep ravine. Meanwhile, two adults and three children were being assessed by ambulance crews after their ute and caravan collided with a barrier on the Bruce Highway at Kybong, south of Gympie. Queensland Ambulance later reported that
all were in "stable conditions" and did not require hospital treatment. A caravanner was also taken to Croydon Hospital in a stable condition after a single-vehicle towing a caravan rolled at Gilbert River on the Gulf Developmental Road
this morning.

OCT 4:
Shares in RV manufacturer and rental company Apollo had soared 10 percent to 65c within 90 minutes of the ASX opening today.

OCT 4:
Major crash police investigating after pedestrian injured in accident at West Beach caravan park. The 60-year-woman was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital after collision with camper trailer driven by man aged 66. He was also taken to hospital where he underwent a blood analysis. The woman is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Wrecked caravanOCT 3:
Two women and two children escaped serious injuries when their ute and caravan rolled in SA's Adelaide Hills. Police are investigating the accident which happened on the South Eastern Freeway near St Ives. No other vehicles were involved. The caravan was wrecked.

OCT 2:
Reports coming in of accident involving a Regent caravan and truck on NSW's Pacific Hwy near Woodburn. Caravanner in 60s understood to have suffered minor injuries.

crusader caravanOCT 1:
Crusader Caravans has been cleared to re-open its factory at Epping in Victoria after a suspected COVID case. "To ensure everyone's health and safety, our staff will be returning to the factory in phases and we expect to restart manufacturing with most of the team on Thursday 7th of October," it says in a Facebook announcement.

OCT 1:
Cheynes Beach Caravan Park, Coral Coast Tourist Park, Experience Lancelin Holiday Park, Kimberleyland Waterfront Holiday Park, RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park and RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort are battling for the title of top park in the Western Australian Tourism Awards. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner on November 13.

OCT 1:
Fire crews in SA have attended 46 RV blazes, three fatal, in the last three years and are stressing the importance of having working fire alarms.
