BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park has been voted the Northern Territory's top park.

Located 4.5km south of Alice Springs, it picked up Gold in the recent Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards' caravan and holiday parks category.

It claims to be the most awarded tourist park in the Territory.

Meanwhile, millionnaire businessman John ‘Foxy’ Robinson, well known in caravanning circles, collected the awards' highest honour.

He received the Tourism Minister’s Perpetual Trophy for his commitment to tourism in the Northern Territory.

His tourism ventures over the years have included Palms Caravan Park and the Hidden Valley Tourist Park.

Tourism and Culture Minister Lauren Moss told guests at the awards ceremony that Mr Robinson was well-known in the tourism industry for his tenacity and ability to develop world-class tourism attractions.

"Foxy is also well-known for his generosity and charity work for Variety and is a true Territorian," he added.

The 30th Brolga Awards saw three individuals and 23 businesses recognised for their service to the tourism industry.

The BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park will now represent the Northern Territory at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards on home soil in Darwin for the first time next February.
