Thirteen percent rise in income
Hard work rakes in $1.25m
profit for Clarence Coast caravan parks
THE five council-operated Clarence Coast caravan parks in New South
Wales are booming.
They recorded a 13 percent increase in income in 2008/09, resulting in a
6.5 percent rise in profit to $1.251 million.
The parks at Iluka, Yamba, Brooms Head, Minnie Waters and Wooli are all
located on crown reserves managed by the council and are operated by
contractors.
Mayor Richie Williamson said: "The results reflect the hard work of the
contracted managers plus the natural beauty and attractions of the coastal
centres in which the parks are located."
The profit generated had allowed the council to allocate just over $1
million for capital projects in the parks in 2009/10, which would make
them even more attractive to visitors, he added.
