Enhancing the

campsite set to become Mary Valley jewel
Have your say
THE former Island Reach camping ground in the tiny Queensland town of
Imbil, west of Gympie, will reopen next month.
It will operate under the new banner of the Imbil Camping Retreat.
Facilities will include powered and unpowered sites, an amenities block
with hot showers and a laundry.
The sheltered camp kitchen offers picnic tables and free gas barbeques.
There are also plans to provide private ensuite cabins.
The new owners, who have not identified themselves, are from the Sunshine
Coast.
They said in a Facebook posting: "This spectacular camp ground is family
friendly and we offer 12 acres of shaded parklands ranging from secluded
areas to open spaces for larger groups.
"As the new owners, we are a local Sunshine Coast family who love to camp
and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors.
"We believe that the Imbil town and Mary Valley is a special place and are
delighted to be able to share the Imbil Camping Retreat with you.
"You’ll be delighted with the variety of peaceful areas, and even your
family dog will love it!"
Set alongside Yabba Creek, Imbil Camping Retreat offers a wide range of
activities including swimming, canoeing and fishing.
Onsite managers Brett and Cheryl are said to be "welcoming, friendly and
passionate about caravanning in our sunburnt country".
The new owners expected the Imbil Camping Retreat would again become a
"Jewel in the Mary Valley Crown".
"The upcoming work we have planned includes new private ensuited retreat
cabins, pool, playground, new amenities and camp kitchen and more," they
said.
"We would love you to come and stay with us at the beautiful Imbil Camping
Retreat."
