'You wonder why people get angry'

Linda takes to social media to
blast inconsiderate caravanners

Caravan overtaking  Have your say

TRAVELLER Linda Parker, a member of the 165,000-strong Caravan and Camping Australia group, has taken to social media to air her grievances against inconsiderate caravanners.

Her Facebook rant came after a recent 700km work-related trip from Townsville to Rockhampton.

"You, my dear friends, are dangerous drivers and you wonder why people get angry with you," she wrote.

"We did get stuck behind a few who were travelling south and I must say we got so frustrated when they were sitting around 90 to 95km in a 100 to 110km zone.

"But when it came to an overtaking lane they sped up to 100km and then back down to 90 after the lane finished."

She urged caravanners to allow others to pass when on an overtaking lane, adding: "You might get a nice wave or a thank-you over the radio, if you have one."

Meanwhile, Linda tells of seeing a truckie tailgating a caravan which was travelling at the posted speed limit.

"I got the company logo from the truck and I'm going to report it," she said.

"There is no need to do that. There are some really bad truck drivers out there who think they own the road and like to bully other drivers out of their way."
