Mandalay scoops best caravan park award

THE popular and family-owned Mandalay Holiday Resort & Tourist Park at Busselton in WA is celebrating after scooping a top award.

The 120-site Top Parks member received the 2019 Reviewpro Peoples Choice Best Caravan Park Award in Australia at the recent Caravan Industry Association of Australia national conference.

The accolade came after ReviewPro analysed all guest reviews across TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com and other surveys and review websites.

"We are so excited," park owner Rhys Johnson, whose family has operated the holiday destination for three generations, said.

He said the fourth generation was now learning the ropes.

"Thank you to our incredible team who work so hard to make everyone's holiday experience the very best we can and to all of our wonderful guests who leave amazing reviews."

Mr Johnson said the award-winning formula was to treat both staff and guests as part of the family.

"We consider ourselves incredibly privileged to be able to share our spectacular backyard with our guests," he said.

"We treat our staff as a family, and in turn they show that same level of warmth and hospitality to our guests. It's the personal experience that people remember when they come to stay with us.

"My grandfather started this park nearly 60 years ago, and it is an incredibly proud moment to receive this acknowledgement."

Head of Top Parks David Smith said Mandalay was an exceptional park in the Top Parks network.

"It is fantastic to see our licensed parks leading the way in the eyes of the customer," he said.
