Making things easy on the road

New products help caravanners reverse and keep in touch

Have your say

NCE has released an RV-dedicated WiFi system to help caravanners keep in touch while on the road.

Unlike other units, the $449 Travel WiFi Modem kit operates as a true modem, not a simple dongle with an antenna.

And unlike other WiFi modems, the NCE modem is not locked to a specific service provider, meaning it can be used with any pre-paid SIM, Dongle or a SIM linked to an existing mobile plan.

The company says the major advantage is that the unit is designed for the true traveller, allowing signal connection from the towed vehicle (or motorhome) whilst the vehicle is travelling.

This allows passengers to access internet connection from their modem and not have to rely on internet connection through 'phones or devices where the signal gain is low.

The kit features 3G and 4G compatibility.

It has 12VDC power input, low profile external button antennas for increased range and signal pick up, high gain 4G antennas, lockable security cable and easy to install wiring looms with plug connection for simple and easy installation.

Power and signal indicators allow for easy monitoring of the system.

The new NCE Travel WiFI Modem kit is designed with the RV enthusiast in mind.

It will keep travellers connected on their journeys and holidays.

Meanwhile, NCE has also announced another innovative product for the RV enthusiast – the NCE WiFi rear view camera.

Designed to make life simple and safe when reversing any vehicle, the company says it is easy to use and even easier to install.

"All you need is a 12VDC input power source and a smart device such as an iPhone, iPad or smartphone and you are able to navigate the tightest spots with your rear view camera," a spokesperson said.

A simple-to-install camera and bracket allows for positioning on the vehicle, and with transmission distance between 30m-50m the screen can easily sit in the front of any towing vehicle, motorhome or even bus and have a clear view of what’s behind.

The NCE WiFi Rear View camera can connect to multiple devices through a free App and does not require an in-dash monitor to operate, unlike the majority of rear view cameras currently on the market.

Connection is via the camera’s own WiFi setting, so no need to find or locate an external WiFi connection.

It features a day and night camera, built-in microphone, high definition picture, tap screen power display and a tall high gain antenna for clear image transmission.
