CITY of Gold Coast tourist parks will benefit from a $39 million revamp, with much-needed upgrades planned over the next decade.

Lifestyle & Community chairman Councillor Hermann Vorster said the overhaul would ensure the City's tourist parks remain industry leaders both in Queensland and nationally.

"Our parks welcome 150,000 guests each year and inject $86 million into the economy," he said.

Gold Coast tourist parks are a self-funded entity and do not rely on general rate funds. All planned spending will be fully paid from earnings.

In the last 18 months, $1 million has been invested to refresh tourist park assets including two vintage caravans at Burleigh Tourist Park and a wellness centre at Tallebudgera Tourist Park.
