Sunshine South West Rocks' Shipwreck Island

'Most exciting project to date'

Kids live out fantasies
on Shipwreck Island

Have your say

AWARD-winning BIG4 Sunshine South West Rocks Holiday Park in NSW has officially opened its $750,000 Shipwreck Island water park.

The facility at the holiday destination between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour has been billed as its most exciting project to date.

A replica tall ship takes pride of place at Shipwreck Island which features a lagoon-style pool, skull cave, rock waterfall, water cannons, an array of slides and two crow's nests.

The park's chief executive, Tony Mayne, said he was thrilled families could now enjoy "a truly magical experience" this summer.

"We are so excited that Shipwreck Island has opened, the end result is sensational," he said.

"The kids are going nuts exploring the ship, skull cave and surrounds.

"We've created a unique attraction which satisfies the sense of adventure in all kids aged 12 and under as they live out their fantasies as a pirate, mermaid, explorer or whatever character they choose.

"Everyone who has been watching Shipwreck Island develop is mesmerised by the fantasy."

Mr Mayne felt sure the investment in Shipwreck Island would attract new guests to the area and further position BIG4 Sunshine South West Rocks as a top holiday experience in one of the country’s favorite tourism hotspots.
