JAYCO Newcastle has continued its tradition of thanking customers by treating them to a free weekend away.

The NSW dealer has now held 11 official customer appreciation sessions, the latest being at the BIG4 Karuah Jetty Holiday Park.

More than 50 RVs and 140 people attended.

The VIPs tucked into free food and were also treated to a surprise performance by Aussie country music star Catherine Britt, who has become the dealership's ambassador.

It was a special night for staff and customers as Catherine's talent has seen her tour, perform and record with some of music's most respected names.

These have included Kasey Chambers, Paul Kelly, Sir Elton John, Don McLean, Chris Isaac, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Guy Clark and Keith Urban.

Jayco Newcastle general manager Damian Charleson said he was "very passionate" about customer service and seeing his customers enjoying their RVs.

"These customer appreciation weekends are not only a great opportunity for our customers to use their 'vans and exchange tips and tricks, but also for our staff to get a taste of the caravanning lifestyle," he said.

The weekend also featured a BBQ put on by the Jayco Newcastle team, live music and face painting for the kids.

Jayco Newcastle has been operating in the Hunter region for more than 30 years and its Heatherbrae complex is set on five acres.

The dealership has been described by Jayco owner and founder Gerry Ryan as world class.

"We are very proud of Jayco Newcastle," he said.

The dealership's recent awards have included the Motor Traders Association's 2015 New Vehicle Dealer of the Year, Caravan and Camping Industry Association Best NSW Regional Dealer and Best of the Best Trade award for 2016.

"Customer service is a key component of our business," Mr Charleson said.

"We focus on creating a culture to meet the needs of our customers at sales and service levels."
